FSQ Balearic Mix for Eclectics

When FSQ first entered the scene in 2014, our music was so well received across Europe. One name that went all in with the love for our FSQ productions is Ibiza based DJ / label manager Pete Gooding. In return, we were quick studies of his music and related Balearic DJs and producers, for example, Jose Padilla, Chris Coco, and Afterlife (Steve Miller). This led to FSQ collaborating with Afterlife, and we turned in a few remixes for Afterlife in 2017 and 2019.

The Balearic sound to our ears was just as similar to the San Francisco lounge / chill out music scene were we in love with in the early 2000s.  We fell in love with the genre, it's idealism and later went on to visit Ibiza and DJ at the legendary Hostal La Torre. Furthermore, the genre tipped into the sounds of our favorites from our youth, groups like Yello, Art of Noise, Heaven 17 and countless others.

In this hour long FSQ Balearic mix for Eclectics, we visit the music of those said groups as well as sprinkle in our own production work that falls in this style vein, including our new psychedelic FSQ remix for Lonely C of Soul Clap and Afterlife's seductive remix of FSQ's "I Zimbra" Talking Heads cover. FSQ member G Koop's acoustic guitar work in hip hop, could be heard as Balearic, so don't miss him here opening the mix on a production he did for the US based rap group Atmosphere.

We present our own eclectic FSQ selections to achieve a Balearic sound, which includes rare cuts from P-Funk, trip hop by DJ Day, jazz excursions by McCoy Tyner (RIP) and Chicago vocalist Peter Cetera, and more. FSQ Mix for Eclectics could be our most diverse DJ mix to date, with the common thread of being a singular Balearic sound that will take your mind to exotic places.
