FSQ Exclusive Mix for 5 Magazine

The FSQ StayHomeDisco mix for Chicago’s 5 Magazine is full of new FSQ music, some of it exclusive to this mix.

For instance, FSQ serves up a fresh taste of FSQ's upcoming album "Reprise Tonight". Forthcoming on Soul Clap Records, the album features guest appearances by George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Nona Hendryx, Fonda Rae, Denise King, and Dolette McDonald.

#StayHomeDisco with FSQ

We are thrilled to present today a new mix for our #StayHomeDisco series from Funk Style Quality, aka FSQ.

"We don't want to offer too many previews of the FSQ 'Reprise Tonight' album because we want to really surprise everyone when it drops. This is our first full length album with all original songs ; it's a concept album, telling the story across 8 songs of a guy who after a lot of personal struggles, gets the opportunity to party once again, it's the ultimate 'Reprise' of his life - that one last party of a lifetime," says FSQ's Chuck Da Fonk.

"Weirdly some of the songs are now very relevant given everyone's current quarantine situation - we are all longing to party again, for that second time around, another go at it, a 'Reprise'." "I included one song from the album for 5Mag - a special premiere - we've never put it in a mix before. The FSQ tune is called 'What They Don't Know' featuring Dolette McDonald, touring and recording group member of The Talking Heads, Sting, and Laurie Anderson. I wrote the lyrics and Dolette opens the song singing : 'Enjoy That Good, That Good-Good, While You Can Get It'. I wrote that with the idea that you know a dance music party with friends, we don't always get to have them. The "What They Don't Know" song seems more important now."

Also in the FSQ StayHomeDisco 5mag mix a long lost Michael The Lion remix of our FSQ album title track "Reprise Tonight", plus our FSQ turns at remixes for fellow Soul Clap Records artists like Michael himself, Nick Monaco, and Lonely C of Soul Clap. Finally keep an ear close to the mix for the solo efforts of FSQ members Chas Bronz and One Era, plus Sa'd The Hourchild Ali's posthumous record "No Couture".
