Leo Season Ain't Over Yet

This week, Chuck Da Fonk invites fellow The Face Radio DJ Greg J Harmon of the Buena Vista Vinyl Club show to discuss the ins and outs of their shared astrological sign, Leo (July 22nd – August 23rd).

Common Leo traits are sociability, generosity, loyalty, passion, dedication, and courage and Chuck lays down plenty of Leo radio show rap at The Face this week to demonstrate his own alignment with this affable persona.

We discover 1960s lounge/exotica music producer Mort Garson who offers up a whole album of songs describing Leos. Plus the FSQ New Music Ferry ships in with fresh sonic cargo by Roisin Murphy x Amy Douglas, Smoove & Turrell x Ray Mang, Beau Zwart, OOFT and more.

The Funkiest Leo Season Yet

Chuck Da Fonk and One Era

Chuck Da Fonk and One Era

Our FSQ show host Chuck Da Fonk happens to be a Leo astrologically speaking, and in tribute to himself and other Leos, he digs up all the funk songs related to explaining and exploring this most funky Zodiac sign.

Garry Shider, a super instrumental musician key to the success of Parliament-Funkadelic (P-Funk), and an underrated architect of modern music, also happens to be a Leo. We celebrate Garry aka Starchild in the second hour of the program via rare P-Funk selections and hand picked from Chuck’s incredible bootleg funk collection.

We also show off FSQ’s One Era production work for a handful of artists like DJ Rocca, Second Sky, Thomas Blondet, and of course FSQ.

No Song Left Unheard

This episode, Chuck Da Fonk offers a new mandate for the FSQ weekly show – “No Song Left Unheard” – which means he aims to never play the same song twice in a year.

The idea leaves lots of room for new music to be played including this week fresh jams by Metronomy, Sofie, Men I Trust, Kraak & Smaak, Bosq, Jack Priest, and dozens more timely cuts.

Also there are so many songs from past to unearth, like Coati Mundi’s long out of print album “The Former Twelve Year Old Genius” which gets its shine via this episode where we also explore other downtown NYC early 80s post punk disco funk rarities.
