June 24th - Funk Until The Edge of Time - For this episode, Chuck Da Fonk finds himself to be a sonic time bandit as he crosses musical epochs including the eras of late 1970s disco anthems, 1980s new wave obscurities and modern nudisco productions.

As with every FSQ show, Chuck leans into the extensive catalogs of his favorite musical groups: George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, Sly and The Family Stone, Yello, Duran Duran and his own project, FSQ. The June edition of his radio show special feature – titled “Charlie’s Travel Agency” – takes you on a melodic journey to the Balearic island of Formentera.

June 17th - Vibe Out Now - A Tribute to G Koop. This episode, Chuck Da Fonk does his best to explore the vast and diverse music catalog of his friend and FSQ member, G Koop, an almost impossible task given time limitations.

Still, we still include everything from his left field work for FSQ to his hip hop guitar licks for artists like Ybn Cordae and 2 Chainz. It’s our best effort to adequately demonstrate G Koop’s amazing production skills and multi-instrumentalist talents. We feature G Koop’s collaborations with Minneapolis rap duo Atmosphere, Jake One, and his music with his own outfit G Koop & O-Man. Also this week, FSQ’s New Music Ferry is loaded up with new tunes by Kraak & Smaak, Teen Daze, Men I Trust, Maurice Fulton and new discovery Strongboi.

June 10th - The Seven Souls. The ancient Egyptians postulated “seven souls” and on this episode of FSQ Chuck Da Fonk tries to match the breadth of this legend by offering several of his most personal sides, including a set of dreamy songs by Material, Yello, Carl Cox and Brooklyn local Olive T.

Another Chuck soul leans towards the hedonism of Ibiza, and he fulfills his desires with a Balearic DJ set, which also pays tribute to his departed DJ partner Sa’d The Hourchild Ali.

Finally, Chuck’s soul of tribute looks towards Bonnie Pointer (RIP), Fuzzy Haskins, and Bobby Simmons to celebrate their legendary contributions to the world of music.

June 3rd - International Yello Day. Fans of Yello mark the 3rd of June as the day to celebrate the Swiss Electronic duo’s success, as that date is the title of their 3rd track from their 1988 album “Flag”. Chuck Da Fonk joins in the festivities and plays a few more Yello rarities before applauding the musical works of his former FSQ bandmate Neal Landauer, a Denver based scion on the original funk scene. We feature Landauer’s collaboration with Richard Kush Griffith of James Brown and P-Funk before unloading all the cargo from the FSQ New Music Ferry including shipments in from Mexico’s Juan Soto, Berlin based David Harks, Israel’s Obas Nenor, and Los Angelenos Chromatics and Pat Lok, and many other fresh jams.

May 27th - Crawlin' like a Centipede, Guyana Bound. In this episode, Chuck Da Fonk receives animal inspiration from Rebbie Jackson’s 80s boogie funk jam “Centipede”, which opens up today’s show. Just like this infamous insect, he crawls through multiple show segments including “The Holy Six”, and the “FSQ New Music Ferry”, which ships in with new sonic cargo by Matt FX, Nick Monaco, Emmett Kai, Afterlife, DJ Rocca, Inkswel and Bell Towers.

In the second hour, Charlie’s Travel Agency jets you off to Guyana via the varied musical styles the the Latin American Caribbean nation has to offer including soca, chutney, jazz, calypso disco and the long lost genre of shanto.

May 20th - Hallucinating Like Elvis. FSQ’s Chuck Da Fonk attempts to remain dedicated to regularly playing music by these six artists on his weekly program: James Brown, George Clinton, Yello, Duran Duran, Sly & The Family Stone, and of course his own group, FSQ.

But will he still be able to make time for an incredible slate of new music releases? Don’t worry as Duran Duran’s psychedelic track “Hallucinating Elvis” becomes an inspiration for this episode as Chuck trips the heck out on the latest shipment by the FSQ New Music Ferry, which includes fresh sonic cargo by Soul Clap, Detroit Swindle, Steve Cobby, Rhye, NTEIBINT, Ron Basejam and Etienne De Crecy.

May 13th - Solitude is Bliss. Tame Impala implores, “Solitude is Bliss”, and FSQ has adopted that as its mantra and episode title. But seclusion leaves the brain idle; as a result FSQ has wandered down memory lane and brought back records from Chuck Da Fonk’s mid 80’s childhood, including angsty new wave anthems by Shriekback, Blancmange, and Tuxedomoon. Happy Birthday to guitar hero, multi-instrumentalist, producer and FSQ member, Chas Bronz. We dial in Chas, aka Tate Masimore, for a banging disco house guest DJ set, direct from his HQ in Jupiter, Florida. Keep an ear for the amazing + emotive Billy MacKenzie as we play his solo outings and legendary work for Yello and The Associates.

May 6th - Dolette McDonald, Mexican Music Special: This week, legendary chanteuse Dolette McDonald rejoins Chuck Da Fonk to reveal the pleasures of working with Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel. Dolette’s stories of Mexico and Mr. Gabriel inspired us to explore the diverse styles of Mexican music including cumbia, ska, jazz, pop / rock, and banda. We highlight Mexican music kings Bebu Silvetti, Pablo Beltan Ruiz, Johnny Laboriel, and Rigo Tovar. Mexican NuDisco is also a big focus of this episode with new tunes by Iñigo Vontier, Djeko & K’You, Juan Soto, LFA and Future Feelings. Plus keep a close ear for our music trivia games.
