“Dancefloor Democracy” an extended 9 minute Funkadelic tinged Nu-Disco chugger on FSQ’s “Reprise Tonight” album (2020, Soul Clap Records). The tune features Funkadelic’s Billy Bass Nelson on guitars and bass, along with George Clinton and his son TreyLewd on vocals.
Now, producer / DJ Birdee cuts down the length original track but speeds up the tempo on his remix of “Dancefloor Democracy”, out now via Soul Clap Records.
A fast paced, bass heavy burner with biting string stabs, we describe Birdee’s take on the tune “Modern Italo-Disco”, which makes sense as Birdee is a native of Italy. Today he is a world citizen in his role as a globe trotting superstar DJ, winning Traxsource’s “Best Nu-Disco” artist of 2021.
Birdee’s music is supported by a veritable who's who of dance music: dj's as diverse as Groove Armada, Purple Disco Machine, Horse Meat Disco and Claptone have all been spinning his tracks, while radio support has also been outstanding - as a matter of fact, Pete Tong recently opened his show with Birdee’s single “Start The Weekend”.
This remix is part of the upcoming release “Reprise Reprise Tonight”, which is a 16 track remix album featuring remixes of FSQ by disco mix inventor Tom Moulton, UK Balearic and modern funk legend Ray Mang, Charlie Soul Clap, Dr Rubberfunk, Lee Curtiss, DJ Rocca and many others. Out September 23 via Soul Clap Records.
